Pick the right boxing glove for your body weight, hand size, and use case. Calculator below uses the same fitting tables our Sialkot factory uses on wholesale orders, including federation rules for sanctioned competition.

How the calculator works

The recommendation combines three inputs:

  • Body weight sets the baseline ounce. Heavier bodies generate more force at impact, so heavier gloves spread that force over a larger padded area.
  • Hand circumference overrides the ounce when it disagrees with body weight โ€” a heavyweight with small hands fits a 14oz better than a 16oz, regardless of body weight.
  • Use case applies federation rules for competition (e.g. World Boxing requires 12oz over 64 kg) and adds 2 ounces for sparring vs training.

The full reference tables are documented on our Boxing Glove Sizing Chart page. Federation rule sources: World Boxing (formerly AIBA) for amateur, ABC commissions for pro boxing, IFMA for Muay Thai, WAKO for kickboxing.

Why this matters for wholesale buyers

If you order gloves for a 100-member gym, single-size stock wastes money. The fit-distribution most commercial gyms need:

Use case Stock split (per 100 gloves)
Mixed-class boxing gym 30 ร— 12oz ยท 40 ร— 14oz ยท 25 ร— 16oz ยท 5 ร— 10oz
Women-focused fitness boxing 40 ร— 10oz ยท 40 ร— 12oz ยท 15 ร— 14oz ยท 5 ร— 8oz
Junior boxing club 30 ร— 6oz ยท 40 ร— 8oz ยท 25 ร— 10oz ยท 5 ร— 12oz
Pro fight camp 20 ร— 14oz training ยท 20 ร— 16oz sparring ยท 15 ร— 18oz heavy spar ยท 10 ร— 10oz competition

For OEM and private-label orders we make all sizes from 4oz junior to 20oz strength-training in cowhide, buffalo, premium synthetic (Maya-Hide), and PU. MOQ 50 pieces per material/size combination.

Frequently asked

Why does the calculator ask if I’m wearing wraps?

Hand wraps add roughly 1 cm of circumference under the glove. If you don’t wrap, the glove that’s “the right size” on a fit chart will actually be slightly loose at the wrist. The default is “yes” because almost everyone training boxing wraps.

I’m between two sizes โ€” which way should I round?

For training and sparring, always round up (heavier glove, more padding, less hand wear). For competition only, follow your federation’s exact rule โ€” going lighter than the rule is illegal, going heavier may also be ruled non-compliant.

Why are competition gloves smaller than training gloves?

Competition gloves are designed to score knockouts cleanly. Less padding means more force per square centimetre on impact. Training gloves intentionally use heavier padding to keep both training partners healthy across thousands of sessions.

Does this calculator apply to MMA gloves too?

No โ€” MMA gloves don’t use ounce-based sizing. They size as S / M / L / XL by hand circumference only. We’re working on a separate MMA glove fit tool.
