Sialkot, Pakistan has been manufacturing Judo gi and martial arts uniforms for international markets for over 50 years. Today, the city supplies dojos, national federations, and martial arts retailers worldwide with everything from beginner single-weave gi to IJF-approved competition uniforms. This guide covers what to look for when sourcing wholesale Judo gi and how to order direct from a Sialkot manufacturer.
Understanding Judo Gi Construction
Single Weave
Lighter weight (350-450 gsm), more affordable, and easier to break in. Suitable for beginners, summer training, and everyday practice. The most commonly ordered gi type for club bulk supply. May not withstand years of heavy use as well as double weave.
Double Weave
Heavy weight (700-900 gsm), extremely durable, and resistant to gripping and pulling. The traditional competition gi construction. Heavier to wear and takes longer to dry, but lasts significantly longer under intensive training conditions.
Gold Weave / Hybrid Weave
Combines durability closer to double weave with the lighter weight of single weave. The most popular choice for serious practitioners and competition players who want durability without the weight penalty of full double weave.
IJF Approval: What It Means for Wholesale Buyers
The International Judo Federation (IJF) approves specific gi models for international competition. If you are supplying competitive clubs or national team members, IJF approval matters. Oxfit Sports manufactures gi to IJF specification — contact us for details on our competition-approved range.
For recreational dojos and school supply, IJF approval is not required. A good quality single-weave gi in white or blue is sufficient for most training purposes.
Colour Options
Standard competition colours are white and blue (IJF regulations require competitors to wear one of each). Training gi are available in white, blue, and black. Custom colours can be produced for private label orders (minimum 50 units).
Custom Embroidery for Clubs and Federations
Club and federation embroidery is one of the most requested customisations for Judo gi. Oxfit Sports can apply:
- Club or dojo name on jacket back
- National flag on lapel or sleeve
- Federation logo or crest
- Competitor name for team orders
- Grade badges or rank patches
Custom embroidery is available from 12 units per design. We work from your artwork files (vector preferred).
BJJ Gi: Key Differences from Judo Gi
While Judo and BJJ gi look similar, they have important differences:
- Cut: BJJ gi have a slimmer, more tapered cut versus the looser traditional Judo gi cut
- Collar: BJJ gi have a thinner, more tightly woven collar that is harder to grip
- Lapel: BJJ lapels are thinner than Judo lapels
- Weight: Most BJJ gi are lighter weight (350-550 gsm) for movement and comfort
Oxfit Sports manufactures both Judo gi and BJJ gi to the specific requirements of each discipline. Specify clearly which you need when ordering.
Sizing and Age Ranges
We manufacture gi in children’s sizes from age 4 (size 000) through adult sizes up to 6XL. Full size chart available on our size guide page. Custom sizing available for OEM orders — useful for federations that require a specific size grading system.
